Betrayal Trauma Recovery, Pre-marital, and Marriage Therapy
Hi, I’m April.
I want to commend you for taking the first step toward help, healing, and hope. Inviting a trained counselor into your journey is a courageous decision.
Are you in a painful relationship with a spouse or family member? Life can sometimes throw unexpected situations our way that leave us devastated and feeling hopeless. You are not alone. I will equip you with the tools you need to uncover what is keeping you stuck and help you move toward healing and freedom. We will work together to create an individualized treatment plan with your specific needs in mind. I work with couples suffering from “the drift” because of life stressors or in distress from unhealthy patterns. I am PACT Level 1trained in the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), neuroscience, attachment theory, and the biology of human arousal to help couples learn secure functioning. I help couples build resilient futures.
I help women uncover the core patterns, wounds, and beliefs that have kept them feeling stuck so they can move forward with confidence and freedom. Together, we create a practical and personalized path toward healing, emotional wellness, and reclaiming identity.
I support women navigating challenges such as:
- Personal identity and self-worth
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Healthy boundaries
- Divorce and relationship transitions
- Parenting and family stress
- Raising neurodivergent children
- In-law and family relationship conflicts
You do not have to stay trapped in survival mode, people-pleasing, or emotional exhaustion. Healing is possible, freedom is attainable, and your next chapter can be healthier and more fulfilling than the last.
I also work with couples in pre-marital counseling to help lay a strong foundation as they head into marriage. I would love to help you create a marriage based on proven principles that have significant results.
I bring lived experience, perspective, and an unwavering belief in what is possible for you. I understand the pain of betrayal firsthand and living in chronically painful relationships with family members. But I also know the hope and strength that can emerge when you choose a different path forward. Sometimes your deepest pain becomes the doorway to healing and a future you never imagined possible.
Even before completing internship, I completed PACT level 1 training, a Narcissistic Abuse Treatment training, and I am a certified SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator for pre-marital counseling. My theoretical orientation is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am currently completing a CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling with all academic coursework completed. Internship, the final part is necessary to gain hours for licensure, which I’m currently working towards. Many people find it meaningful to integrate their faith into the counseling process. I offer faith integration as an option that aligns with your beliefs and comfort level. I am under the supervision of Matt Driggers, LPC.
On a personal note, my husband and I enjoy hiking and walking together. I have raised four beautiful children, two of which are twins.
